Services Designed Around Real Local Needs

Academyhavenk does not attempt to be all things to all people. Our scope is deliberate: we provide training and professional support services that are genuinely useful to individuals, households, and small to medium enterprises in Thika and the wider Kiambu County region. We do not offer medical consultations, legal representation, or large-scale corporate training contracts. What we do offer, we do carefully — with qualified facilitators, prepared materials, and honest assessments of what a programme can and cannot achieve for you. Our services fall into three broad areas: structured learning programmes, appointment-based professional consultations, and access to curated community and reference resources.

Our Three Core Service Areas

Learning Programmes

Short courses and structured workshops covering business skills, digital literacy, financial management, and professional communication. Cohorts run for four to eight weeks, with a maximum of fifteen participants per group to ensure each person receives adequate facilitator attention. Participants receive a certificate of completion and a resource pack upon finishing the programme successfully.

Professional Appointments

Scheduled one-on-one or small-group consultation sessions with our experienced staff. Topics include business planning, product pricing, regulatory compliance for SMEs in Kenya, and study guidance for continuing education. Sessions last sixty or ninety minutes and are documented with a written summary you can take away and act on.

Community Resources

Access to our reference library and shared workspace during opening hours. The collection includes government gazette publications, Kenya Revenue Authority guides, business-registration templates, and a curated selection of professional development materials. Resource access is available as a standalone membership or bundled with a learning programme.

How the Appointment Process Works

Booking a session at Academyhavenk follows a straightforward three-step process. First, you contact our front desk by phone or email to describe what you are trying to achieve — there is no obligation at this stage, and we will tell you honestly if we are not the right fit. Second, we confirm a date and time that suits your schedule and assign you to the most appropriate staff member. Third, you attend the session in our well-equipped consultation rooms; if any follow-up material or a second session is warranted, we will discuss that with you at the close of the appointment. We do not pressure clients into packages they do not need. All fees are communicated before the session is confirmed.

Common Questions About Our Services

Do I need any prior qualifications to join a learning programme?

Most of our programmes require only secondary-school-level literacy and numeracy. Where a programme has specific prerequisites — for example, a basic understanding of bookkeeping for our financial-management course — these are stated clearly in the programme description. If you are unsure whether a programme is right for you, call us and we will assess your readiness in a short, no-obligation telephone conversation.

Can a group from the same organisation attend together?

Yes. We regularly accommodate small workplace teams of two to eight people in our standard cohorts, provided enrolment is confirmed at least two weeks in advance. For groups larger than eight, please enquire about a dedicated session — we can sometimes accommodate these in our main training room on a Saturday morning.

What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?

We ask for at least 48 hours' notice to reschedule or cancel an appointment without forfeiting your booking fee. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice are charged at 50 per cent of the session fee. For programme enrolments, a full refund is available up to five business days before the cohort start date.

Are the certificates you issue recognised?

Our completion certificates are issued by Academyhavenk and attest to programme participation and skills demonstrated. They are not currently accredited by KNEC or a tertiary institution. Many employers and community organisations in the Thika area accept them as evidence of professional development, but if you require a nationally accredited certificate, we will advise you on the appropriate TVET or college pathway.

“The regulatory-compliance appointment saved me significant time and money. My consultant walked me through the exact KRA filing steps relevant to my type of sole-trader business — something I had struggled to find clearly explained anywhere online. I left with a written checklist and completed my returns the following week without assistance.”

James Kariuki, Thika — Sole Trader
